Membership

The Summerhill Residents Association (SRA) is our collective voice with the City Councillor, City Hall or the Ontario Municipal Board. Your membership affords you the opportunity to make your opinions known and be supported on local issues. Members vote at the annual general meeting for directors who meet frequently with planners, councillors and other staff at City Hall to voice your concerns about traffic, development and planning decisions, heritage and public safety.

The SRA can only do its job if local residents purchase memberships. Your membership allows the board to hire professional assistance to support initiatives such as appealing zoning decisions, clean-up and improving the gardens and common areas around the neighbourhood, and our participation in local events including the Summerhill Fair.

Membership is just $35.00 per year for each household member over the age of 18 years old.

Membership Fees

Membership is open to anyone 18 or older who lives in or owns a home within SRA boundaries*: Yonge Street to the west, the rear lot line of homes on the north side of Woodlawn Avenue East (excluding the YWCA) to the north, the David A. Balfour Park ravine to the east, and the northern edge of the Canadian Pacific Railway lands to the south.**

As a member, you will receive our newsletter by email and have one vote at the Annual General Meeting.

*Each resident living within our boundaries may obtain individual membership in the SRA.

**Please note that if you submit a membership fee and do not live within our boundaries, you will not be added to the membership list and your fee will not be reimbursed.
