Who We Are

The Summerhill Residents’ Association (SRA) represents homeowners and renters within the neighbourhood bounded by Yonge Street (west), Woodlawn Avenue East (north), Shaftesbury Avenue (south), and the David A. Balfour Park ravine (east). This area includes Summerhill Avenue, Summerhill Gardens, Ottawa Street, Tacoma Avenue, Shaftesbury Place, and Woodlawn Avenue East.

Our association is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the character, safety, and livability of the Summerhill community.

Membership & Voting

Residents within our boundaries are encouraged to become members. Paid membership is required to vote on matters brought forward at meetings throughout the year.

  • One membership provides one vote.
  • Multiple residents at the same address may vote by purchasing additional memberships.
  • All registered owners in neighbourhood condominiums that participate in bulk memberships are entitled to vote.

Governance

The SRA is led by a volunteer Board of Directors elected annually at our Annual General Meeting.

The Board works on behalf of residents by:

  • Providing community feedback to our City Councillor
  • Engaging with the Committee of Adjustment and City Planning Department
  • Representing neighbourhood perspectives on development and planning matters

The SRA is also a member of FoNTRA (Federation of North Toronto Residents’ Associations), contributing to discussions on issues affecting both North Toronto and the city as a whole.
